.Spotted previous drug offended nets drug bust
Magee police nets a felony drug bust after officials conducted a routine traffic stop for a seatbelt violation, recognizing the driver as a previous drug offender.
On the morning of May 26, authorities discovered a 3-pound total weight package containing an illegal drug commonly known as "K2," "Spice," among several other street name. Spice is considered to be  dangerous, and is reported significantly more potent than marijuana.
After local authorities received reliable information from a confidential informant, Jeffrey Jones, 21, was arrested on 5th Ave SW near McDonald's following the initial stop and investigation findings. During the search Sgt Joey Womack and Officer Vance Hamilton reported discovering a package containing 60 small plastic containers of "Spice" in the floorboard of the green Chevrolet Camaro Jones was driving before he was stopped.
After combining the synthetic marijuana from each of the sixty containers, officials reported over   half of 1 pound of "Spice" was collected and logged into police evidence, an estimated total street value exceeding $1,200 on current market price.
Jeffrey Jones, 123 Littlebit Drive Magee, MS, was charged for a seatbelt violation and for possession of a controlled substance to wit spice.
The illegal drugs and the green 1997 Chevrolet Camaro were seized by Magee Police Department.
